Refrigerated shipping containers, also known as reefer containers, are specialised containers used to store temperature-sensitive goods. These shipping containers are designed to maintain a specific temperature range, ensuring that perishable items, such as fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, pharmaceuticals, and other sensitive products, remain fresh and in optimal condition.
Reefer containers are equipped with built-in refrigeration systems that can either cool or heat the interior, depending on the goods’ requirements. The temperature can be set and maintained at precise levels to preserve the goods’ quality. These containers have thick walls with high-quality insulation materials, which help to minimise heat exchange with the external environment. These reefer units are typically supplied with clip on generator sets, also known as gensets.
Refrigerated containers are equipped with sophisticated monitoring systems to keep track of humidity levels. These systems can be remotely monitored and controlled to ensure that the cargo remains within the specified conditions. They are available for sale and hire in 10ft, 20ft and 40ft.
